Site suitability analysis for renewable hydrogen production in Portugal

Renewable hydrogen, derived from renewable energy
sources, is a key pathway to reducing emissions in hard-to-electrify
sectors and supporting the global transition to sustainable energy
systems. Despite policy commitments and strategic roadmaps,
large-scale deployment requires meticulous strategizing to ensure
competitiveness and long-term viability. This study presents a
decision-making framework to locate competitive sites for large-scale
photovoltaic and wind-based hydrogen production facilities in
Portugal.
