Iván Alfonso

Iván is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Software Engineering (SWERDI) unit at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST). He received his PhD in 2022 through a collaboration program between the Universidad de los Andes and the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. His research focuses on Model-Driven Engineering (MDE), low-code platforms, self-adaptive systems, and the Internet of Things (IoT). He is particularly interested in software engineering approaches for complex engineering systems and in the use of models and Digital Twins to support their design and operation. His current work includes the development of Digital Twin solutions for hydrogen and energy systems, as well as the BESSER low-code platform, which supports model-based software development.
