Tom Verlinden

Tom Verlinden is an experienced energy and hydrogen professional with more than 30 years of industry experience across engineering, chemicals, port development, and the hydrogen economy.

He began his career at Atlas Copco in 1995, before joining BASF Antwerp in 2007. From 2017 to 2021, he worked at the Port of Antwerp, further developing his expertise in energy, infrastructure, and industrial collaboration. Since 2022, he has been with WaterstofNet, where he coordinates hydrogen activities across the Benelux hydrogen cluster, bringing together around 150 organisations and companies active in the hydrogen economy. He is also involved in the organisation of the Hydrogen Academy.

Since January 2025, Tom has served as Project Director of RH2INE, an initiative focused on advancing hydrogen applications and infrastructure.

Tom holds a Master’s degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering from KU Leuven in Belgium, with a specialisation in Energy Technologies.
